SEMM PhD Student Ludovica Russo published in Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology

SEMM congratulates Ludovica Russo, PhD student at IFOM in Giuseppe Leuzzi’s lab, on the recent publication as co-first author in the journal Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology.

The study, entitled A base editing resource for functional annotation of DNA repair variants in breast-derived cell models”, presents a large-scale functional genomics resource to investigate the impact of genetic variants in DNA damage response genes in breast-derived cellular models. Using CRISPR-base editing screens, the researchers generated a dataset that supports the functional characterization of variants with potential relevance to cancer biology.

This work contributes to improving the interpretation of DNA repair variants and provides a valuable research for the precision oncology research.

Congratulations, Ludovica, on this important achievement!
