SEMM congratulates Ludovica Russo, PhD student at IFOM in Giuseppe Leuzzi’s lab, on the recent publication as co-first author in the journal Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology.

The study, entitled “A base editing resource for functional annotation of DNA repair variants in breast-derived cell models”, presents a large-scale functional genomics resource to investigate the impact of genetic variants in DNA damage response genes in breast-derived cellular models. Using CRISPR-base editing screens, the researchers generated a dataset that supports the functional characterization of variants with potential relevance to cancer biology.

This work contributes to improving the interpretation of DNA repair variants and provides a valuable research for the precision oncology research.
