2026 Physician Scientist Call Opening Soon

We are pleased to announce that the 2026 Call will be open not only to final-year medical residents, but also to medical specialists who have recently obtained their qualification.

The program offers a unique opportunity to combine advanced biomedical research with continued clinical practice. 

Developed through the joint commitment of Fondazione Cariplo and Fondazione AIRC, and delivered with the support of the University of Milan and the European School of Molecular Medicine (SEMM), it is designed to strengthen the training of physician scientists interested in cancer research. 

The 4-year PhD Program combines research training with the possibility of maintaining at least 20% clinical activity, while providing access to leading research laboratories and state-of-the-art facilities. Prospective applicants can already explore the available research groups and projects ahead of the opening of the call.
